Cults and False Doctrine
In a day when every religion
claims to be Christian and churches are caring less and less
for doctrine, may God stir up some folks to make stands
against groups who would preach false doctrine. This page will consist of the newest
items and then you may browse the subcategories to find the archived
material.
Items of
Importance
-
Cult: What
is a cult and what are some of their characteristics?
-
Salvation
of Cult Members: How are people caught up in cults not
saved? For example, do you think Roman Catholics are not saved,
or Seventh Day Adventists, etc. - how? (I don't think they are,
but am unable to explain why. Can you help me give
an explanation to them/others?)

Church of Christ
Doctrine: Are musical instruments scriptural for churches
today? Is the Church of Christ considered a denomination? Pastor
Reagan was told by his father in the ministry "All
practices of the church fit into three categories: the
scriptural, the unscriptural, and the non-scriptural." Click on
the title to see these and more explained.
-
Sabbath or Sunday: What day of the
week should believers set aside to worship the Lord? When did believers
begin the practice of gathering together on Sunday or the Lord's Day for
the purpose of worshipping the Lord Jesus Christ?
-
John 14:19 - The Appearance
of Christ:
Please explain what Jesus meant in John 14:19
when He said
the world will see Him no more, but the eleven
disciples would see Him again. I used to be a Jehovah Witness, but am not
any more. Because of their teachings, this verse is confusing to me.

Being Troubled About the
Sabbath: Do you have people telling you that you have taken the
mark of the beast by worshipping on Sunday? Do they try to convince
you that you are evil because you do not keep the sabbath? Here are
some pointers on how to handle this confrontation.
- Greek Mythology: Greek
mythology deals with the stories of their gods. Certainly, there is a
fascinating aspect to the stories surrounding the Greek gods. There is
probably nothing wrong with an elementary knowledge of some of these
stories. However, there is a great danger as well.
- Graham
Phillips and the Identity of Jesus: According to Graham
Phillips, Jesus is the son of Antipater (the son of Herod) and his
wife Mary. He says that he derived this from a close reading
of the gospel. Could this be accurate when compared to the
scriptures?
- Ye Are Gods: Can
you please comment or explain Psalm 82:6 where God
says, "I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are
children of the most High." I know in John 10:34
Jesus makes reference to this passage. I have family
members who are Mormons and they use these verses to
promote their belief that they will one day become
gods.
-
Basics on the Seventh Day Adventists:
Do you
have any information on Seventh Day Adventist
church. I have to do a report and there are so many
conflicting things on the web that I don't really
know what is real and what is not!
-
Exclusion
from the Kingdom: Will unfaithful
Christians miss the kingdom? Will they suffer in the lake
of fire during the reign of the faithful Christians?
-
Stigmata:
I was
watching a movie called stigmata and I was wondering what it is? I
certainly do not believe this is from God.
