Through Ways Impossible
Published Date:
January 20, 2005
O holy cause; O sacred path;
Designed by God who leads the way.
Here we must walk with purpose clear,
Lest thoughtless steps lead us astray.
The fine designs of providence,
That work all things for highest good;
The wondrous, secret ways of God,
Cannot by man be understood.
Yet God creates each crooked turn,
To crush the serpent ways within;
To purify our human hearts;
To teach us holy discipline.
For when we reach the fearful place,
Where rugged way becomes a halt;
We fail to see a safe escape;
The devils of our mind assault.
Just when we think the cause is lost;
When hope, and faith, and peace, all melt;
The working of our God is seen;
The presence of the Lord is felt.
He guides through the impossible.
We feel no earth beneath our feet.
We come before the throne of grace;
We stand before the mercy seat.
We fear to look; we fear to move;
We fear to go to right or left.
We’re in the presence of His love;
To us revealed is God Himself.
But duty calls and danger waits;
Into the world again we go.
But much has changed in how we live,
For much has changed in what we know.
We know the Lord is always near:
That He will guide each step we take;
That He will bless our lives for good,
Though trials come; though hearts may break.
Proverbs 27:7
The full soul loatheth an honeycomb; but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.
