Spooks and Psychics
According to an article in today's "Knoxville New Sentinel," 73 percent of Americans believe in some form of paranormal experience. These beliefs include extrasensory perception (41%), haunted houses (37%), ghosts (32%), telepathy (31%), and clairvoyance (26%). The Gallop Poll that came up with these figures also found that Christians (75%) were more likely to believe in the paranormal than non-Christians (66%). Now, is this because many Christians take the evil spirits of the Bible literally and somehow transfer that to psychics? After all, if evil spirits are real then some of these psychics are probably connected to such spirits. Or, is it because part of the poll was taken on a Wednesday night when most the serious Christians were in church? Or, is it because Christians are just more gullible than non-Christians? I will leave it up to you do decide.
Devil Possession and Christians
Can a Christian be possessed by devils, even though he has the Holy Spirit inside of him?
An Evil Spirit From the Lord
What does it mean when the Bible says that an evil spirit was sent by God to torment Saul (reference 1 Samuel 16:14-15)?
Satan vs. Lucifer
Is Lucifer and Satan the same? The Bible says Satan is from the beginning a liar, from the day of his creation, but Lucifer is not like that, he was a holy cherub till the day he was found guilty.
Satan's Rebellion and Fall
What facts do we know about the fall of Satan? Did he cause other angels to rebel with him? Were the angels deceived or did they know what they were doing?
Visions of Warning (Daily Portion 10224)
In this chapter, God gives Zechariah two visions of warning. First, he sees a flying roll, which is identified as the curse. This pictures the law of God and the curse on those who disobey it. Second, he sees a woman sitting in a basket called an ephah (after the size of the basket). This vision is called wickedness and portrays false religion.
