Who is a Christian?
Who is a Christian?
A Christian is a person who has come to the realization of their sinful, lost condition and with a repentant heart turns to the Lord Jesus Christ and in faith accepts His substitutionary death as payment for their sins.
Paul repeatedly testified that the plan of salvation for all of mankind was a sincere, heartfelt belief in the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ which the Bible declares as the Gospel of Christ.
Romans 1:16For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
See All... For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
1 Corinthians 15:1-4 [1] Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; [2] By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. [3] For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; [4] And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

This simple plan of the Gospel is demonstrated no clearer than in the salvation of the Philippian jailor:
Acts 16:27-31 [27] And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled. [28] But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here. [29] Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, [30] And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? [31] And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
