The Dog Ate My Homework

Published Date:
March 20, 2009

Well maybe he didn't, but Augie, a two-year-old greater Swiss mountain dog, did eat $400.

Can't you see the scenario now? A husband turns to his wife and says, "where is the four hundred dollars that we need to deposit", and she responds, "umm...I have been meaning to tell you that the dog ate it". He goes on to say "okay...enough playing around, we need to deposit the money", and she says, "honey, I'm not playing, but I have recovered parts of $160 from his excrement".

It would be very interesting to do a study on all the things that dogs will eat (Proverbs 26:11). If you study your Bible, you will find that lost Gentiles are likened to dogs (Matthew 15:22-28). Perhaps Augie could teach us some valuable lessons about the nature of the lost.
