The Continuing Reign of Solomon
This chapter and the next mark the height of Solomon’s reign. But there is a warning here too. We will see later how his wealth and his wives draw him away from the Lord.
The Closing of Moses' Blessing (Daily Portion 10424)
In these verses, Moses blesses the three remaining tribes: Dan, Naphtali, and Aser. Then, he exalts the greatness of God and declares the happiness of Israel as the people of God. This passage is a fitting close to the blessing of Moses the man of God (Deuteronomy 33:1).
The Day of God's Wrath (Daily Portion 10420)
The day of God’s wrath has come and the Lord is coming in vengeance. However, the prophet reminds the Lord of past mercies on His people while he repents of their past sins. He asks the Lord to look down from His holy habitation and reclaim the Israelites as His own.

The Wisdom of Solomon
Solomon had the opportunity that many would love to have. He could ask anything that he wanted of God. Solomon's request tells us much of him.
The Glory of Jerusalem (Daily Portion 10413)
This chapter describes the glory that will one day come to God’s chosen city of Jerusalem. In much of the chapter, God is speaking directly to the city. Notice also how the earthly city is a picture and type of the heavenly Jerusalem that comes down in the book of Revelation (chapters 21 & 22).
The Wilderness Wanderings of David
This is a most difficult time for David. He is constantly in fear for his life. Yet, he survives by continually seeking God’s will.

David Anointed to be King
What a difference we see between Saul and David. One impressed men by his exterior appearance; the other impressed God by the condition of his heart.
God’s Final Rejection of Saul
In this chapter, Saul illustrates the sin of willful rebellion and God’s reaction to this sin. Saul’s rebellion leads to God’s rejection of him as king of Israel.
