INTRODUCTION

The Bible always serves as the best source for adequately defining a Bible word. According to Joshua 7:19And Joshua said unto Achan, My son, give, I pray thee, glory to the LORD God of Israel, and make confession unto him; and tell me now what thou hast done; hide it not from me.

Joshua told Achan to give “glory to the LORD God of Israel, and make confession unto him; and tell me now what thou hast done; hide it not from me.”  Psalm 32:5I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
See All... identifies confession as acknowledging a matter—refusing to hide it. Additionally, Proverbs 28:13He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
See All... defines confession as the opposite of covering one's sin. In John 1:20And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.
See All..., the word confessed appears twice with a defining phrase in between— “and denied not.” In the same manner, Acts 19:18And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds.

Keep in mind that regardless of one's willingness to confess, nothing can be hidden from the Lord.
