To What Should We Give Witness? - Acts 4:33
See All...
INTRODUCTION
In order to be saved, a person must place his faith solely upon Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection for the means of salvation. Paul defined this central body of truth as the gospel of the grace of God (1 Corinthians 15:1-4 [1] Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
[2] By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
[3] For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
[4] And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Though believers may tell what the Lord has done in their lives since being saved, the most important truth when witnessing involves Christ’s crucifixion, death, and resurrection from the dead. This truth, the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, became the theme of the early church. A careful study of the evangelistic messages of the early church testifies to this fact. Just as this doctrine historically served as the central truth when dealing with the lost, it should continue to be so today.
DEVOTIONAL THOUGHTS
- (For children): Jesus proved He was the Son of God by His resurrection from the dead (Romans 1:4And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:
See All...). A person must believe this to be saved (Romans 10:9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
See All...). Paul was careful in His witness for the Lord to tell about the resurrection (Acts 17:2-3 [2] And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures, [3] Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.
See All...). - (For everyone): Why is it so important to give witness to the death, burial, and resurrection when speaking to the lost about their need for salvation? What happens when we fail to teach this truth?
- How could a personal testimony aid when witnessing to the lost? How could you work the gospel of the grace of God into your own personal testimony?
PRAYER NEEDS
- Ask the Lord to show you the importance of the resurrection.
- Ask God to give you boldness to tell the lost about the gospel.
