They Are Stronger Than We - Numbers 13:26-31
See All...
INTRODUCTION
The people of God are typically the underdog in a time of battle. The enemy is most often stronger, wiser, and more desirous of gaining the victory. The Israelites, when spying the land of Canaan, were instructed to view the fruit of the land, because that was the area in which God had given them promise. Instead, the Israelites focused on the greatness of the enemy and the insurmountable odds with which they were faced. In like manner, today’s believer faces superior foes: the world, the flesh, and the Devil. Faith, however, refuses to retreat and points to the fact that God Himself dwells in each believer and can give the strength necessary to overcome superior foes (1 John 4:4Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHTS
- (For smaller children) Read about these seemingly hopeless situations and the men who knew God was their strength: Deuteronomy 5:15And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.
See All...; 1 Samuel 14:6And Jonathan said to the young man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised: it may be that the LORD will work for us: for there is no restraint to the LORD to save by many or by few.
See All..., 13; 1 Samuel 17:37David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee.
See All...; 2 Kings 6:15-17 [15] And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do? [16] And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. [17] And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
See All...; 2 Chronicles 32:7-8 [7] Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him: [8] With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.
See All.... We are safe in God’s hands (John 10:27-29 [27] My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: [28] And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. [29] My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
See All...). - In what ways are you no match for the world, the flesh, and the Devil? What should your inferiority drive you to do? Should you hide and refuse to fight?
- Why can a believer have hope for victory in spiritual warfare, while unbelievers are merely subject to be servants to their own ungodly desires?
PRAYER NEEDS
- Thank God for being your strength in times of battle.
- Ask God to remind you of the importance of faith in warfare.
