The Steward’s Reward - 1 Corinthians 9:17
See All...
INTRODUCTION
Stewardship is a difficult task, but it is not without reward. Just as the Lord Jesus presented in His parables of stewardship, the faithful steward receives reward at the time of accounting for his stewardship. The apostle Paul confessed this truth in 1 Corinthians 9:17For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.
See All... when he said, "if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward." Paul knew God had a special calling on his life, and he knew he would stand before God to give an account for his service. In like manner, each believer will one day stand before the Master (Jesus Christ) to give an account of his stewardship. Those who have served as good stewards will receive reward, while those who have not will suffer loss (1 Corinthians 3:11-15 [11] For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
[12] Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
[13] Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
[14] If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
[15] If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHTS
- (For smaller children) How do you feel when Dad or Mom says, "Good job"? God has a work for every believer to do and it will not go unnoticed (2 Chronicles 15:7Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded.
See All...; 1 Corinthians 15:58Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
See All...; Revelation 22:12And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
See All...). Wouldn't you like to hear Him say, "Well done" (Matthew 25:23His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
See All...a)? - Have you faithfully served in your stewardship for the Lord? Are there things you would go back and change up to this point? How would you like to finish?
- Do you desire to please the Lord? Do you want to receive rewards from Him at the Judgment Seat of Christ? What would have to change in order to receive those rewards?
PRAYER NEEDS
- Ask God to help you finish your stewardship well.
- Ask God to remind you that a day of accounting is coming.
