The Requirement for Stewardship - 1 Corinthians 4:2
See All...
INTRODUCTION
Stewardship requires predominantly one trait, and that trait is faithfulness. People all over the world are limited in life because of the absence of various skill sets, but stewardship demands only that a man be faithful. The master of the house can teach his steward how to think ahead or how to deal with problems or problem people, but he cannot teach faithfulness. When the time comes to look for a steward, a wise master knows that his greatest need in a steward is faithfulness (Luke 12:42And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHTS
- (For smaller children) The following people had different positions because they were faithful: Moses over Israel (Numbers 12:7My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.

[3] Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm. [4] Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.

Behold, it is laid over with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in the midst of it. [20] But the LORD is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him.
See All...; 2 Timothy 2:2And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

See All...; 1 Corinthians 9:17For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.
See All...; 1 Thessalonians 2:4But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.

See All...)? - What are some weaknesses that could keep you from serving God? How could these weaknesses be overcome by faithfulness?
PRAYER NEEDS
- Thank God for the opportunity to be a steward.
- Ask the Lord to teach you the importance of faithfulness.
