The Present Benefits of Salvation - Galatians 5:19-24

The Present Benefits of Salvation - Galatians 5:19-24

INTRODUCTION

Much time is spent discussing the benefits that believers will enjoy after this life is over, but just as grand are the benefits of salvation that can be enjoyed in this present life. Perhaps the lack of focus on present benefits has caused some to put off their salvation, but do not be misled, salvation changes a person’s present circumstances just as much as it will his future circumstances. Salvation does not change a man’s surroundings, it changes the man, and when it does, it brings things like love, joy, and peace. The very things the average lost person is in search of can only be found through a present, personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHTS

  • (For smaller children) A present benefit of salvation is seen in God’s promises to the saints. A few of these are He never leaves us (Romans 8:35-39), answered prayer (Jeremiah 33:3; 1 John 5:14-15), needs supplied (Philippians 4:19), and help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
  • How has your life changed since you trusted Christ as Saviour? How has love, joy, and peace increased? What are some other notable benefits you are presently enjoying?
  • Write down some great things that have happened in your life since the day you were born again. How many of these things would not have occurred had you not trusted Christ?

PRAYER NEEDS

  • Thank the Lord for His benefits (Psalm 68:19).
  • Ask the Lord to continually remind you of His benefits.
