INTRODUCTION

Rarely does man have the opportunity to participate in heavenly activity while on earth. Singing is one of those times. In Job 38, the Bible sheds light on some of the events surrounding creation. According to Job 38:7When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
See All..., "the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy." These spiritual beings saw the creation of God and could not help but burst into song. Though singing has often been used in unholy ways, its origins are heavenly. Not only are its origins heavenly, but long after the world has sung its last song, heaven will still be enjoying God’s gift of musick (Revelation 5:9And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
See All...). With these things being true, God’s people ought to enjoy this heavenly benefit as oft as possible.

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHTS

• (For smaller children) The heavenly beings rejoiced over God's creation. We have something more beautiful than that to sing about. Salvation is the beginning of our walk with God and there is no end to it (Psalm 95:1-3 [1] O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. [2] Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. [3] For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.
