The Natural Effect of Faith
See All...
INTRODUCTION
Faith moves a believer to speak on behalf of the Lord. If an individual believed a building would burn to the ground, he would have a natural urge to want to warn those in danger. In like manner, believers will have a desire to tell the lost of the judgment to come. Any person who truly believes the judgment of God to be real and the way of salvation to be plain will naturally want his loved ones to learn of that way before it is eternally too late. If a person claims to have believed the gospel and be saved, but has no desire to tell others about the gospel, that person ought to examine his salvation to make sure he genuinely believed.
DEVOTIONAL THOUGHTS
- (For smaller children) When we get a new toy, clothes, etc., we can't wait to tell others. Salvation is the most important thing that can happen to anyone (Mark 8:36For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
See All...). Our sins are forgiven and we get to be with God forever (John 3:16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
See All...). We should love telling this good news. - Why should it be natural for a believer to want others to know the gospel of the Lord Jesus? What does it suggest if that desire does not exist in you?
- Are any of your immediate family members lost? Do any of your friends confess that they have never asked the Lord Jesus to be their Saviour? What are you going to do to help them?
PRAYER NEEDS
- Ask the Lord to examine your heart for a desire to witness.
- Ask God to work in the hearts of your friends and loved ones.
