The Ministry of Reconciliation
See All...
INTRODUCTION
The unsaved man is an enemy of God (Romans 5:10For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
See All...). Those of us that have trusted Christ as Saviour have been reconciled to God through the blood of Christ (Romans 5:10For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
See All...; 2 Corinthians 5:18And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
See All...). Reconciliation takes those that were enemies of God and makes them His ambassadors (2 Corinthians 5:20Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
See All...). What a wonderful salvation! But there’s more, the Lord Jesus has given the ministry of reconciliation to those that have been reconciled. As such we are to submit ourselves to the work of telling others how they too can be reconciled to God. Paul understood this and declared that he was a "debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise" (Romans 1:14I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHTS
- (For smaller children) God wants us to tell others what He did for them so they can go to heaven. Andrew told Peter (John 1:41-42 [41] He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.
[42] And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.
See All...a). Some other ways to reach people for the Lord are to invite them to church, give them a tract or a Bible, give to your church and to missions. - A person that is a debtor to someone is, in a sense, his servant. What does it mean to be a debtor to others for the gospel’s sake? To whom are you a debtor? What are you doing about this debt?
- How can witnessing to others be considered ministry? What kind of sacrifices can you make to help others come to a saving knowledge of Christ? Are you making those sacrifices?
PRAYER NEEDS
- Ask the Lord to give you a burden for those that are lost.
- Ask the Lord to show you the necessity of this ministry.
