INTRODUCTION

God does not desire for believers to be confused. Had sin never entered into the world, there would be no conflicting feelings or voices to introduce confusion. God did not introduce confusion into the world and is not the author of it in the life of any believer. Rather, God’s truth seeks to clear up the confusion caused by sin and Satan. Therefore, it should be of no surprise that God desires for every individual to have clarity of mind when it comes to the truths found in His word. He wants man to know of a certainty whether or not his eternal destination is heaven or hell. And God wants man to have perfect clarity when it comes to distinguishing sin and righteousness.

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHTS

• (For smaller children) God is not willing that any should perish (2 Peter 3:9The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

He doesn't want us to doubt or be confused (1 John 5:11-13 [11] And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. [12] He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. [13] These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

• Why is it important to realize that God is not the author of confusion? What does this mean you can assume when confusion enters your mind and heart?

• Ask God to help you know that confusion is not sent by Him.
