Solomon began to build the temple for which he is famous. Here we learn of the general dimensions, the coverings, the cherubim, and the pillars. Most people tend to see portions of scripture like this as difficult and boring. However, many hidden treasures are reserved to those who take the time to look for them.

In this last section of the song of Moses, Moses contrasted the Rock of Israel with the rock of the other nations. God also promised to revenge His people. Moses closed the song with a plea to observe God’s commandments. The law is not a vain thing. It is your life by which you prolong your days in the land. The same day, the Lord told Moses to ascend Mount Nebo where he would see the Promised Land before he died.

What would you do if I told you that there was someone that lived really close to you that was out to get your family? It’s not necessarily going to be an obvious attack but maybe a subtil one. It might even be so subtil that you may sit there and watch it happen and not even know that there has been an attack. Now, what would you do if I told you that most of the time the thing that is going to harm you may already be in your home? Tonight we want to take a look into the word of God at something that God hates but most Christians live with.

This passage carefully argues for justification by faith. In justification, our sins are imputed to Christ to be paid for on the cross while the righteousness of Christ is imputed to us. This passage argues against justification by works, for justification by faith, and for justification by faith for both Jews and Gentiles. In the last argument, Abraham is used to prove that justification by faith applies to the Gentiles as well as to the Jews.

This chapter provides a beautiful picture of Jerusalem in the future kingdom age. The glory of the Lord will shine upon it and the Gentiles will come unto it. Jerusalem will be a place of prosperity and praise. It will be blessed with the glory of God and will be a joy of many generations.

Ecclesiastes declares the absolute vanity of all things under the sun. Biblical vanity does not refer to an excessive care on good looks. Biblical vanity is emptiness or worthlessness.

Some scholars believe there is a “gap” of time between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2, and others reject such a proposition. Certain objectors insist that there must be a continuity of thought in the time and progression of Scriptures and thus disallow any consideration of a “gap.” The objectors claim that “gap-believers” force the issue of a “gap” by making a division between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2 and thus commit a grave hermeneutical error.

God is a God of order. He is also a God who divides. Even on the first day of creation, He divided the light from the darkness. And, He expects His servants to rightly divide His word (2Timothy 2:15).
