INTRODUCTION: God shows through Job that what really matters is how things turn out in the end. Much of scripture points to the importance of considering the end of a thing. The Lord longed concerning Israel, “O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!” (Deuteronomy 32:29O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!

[2] Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.

[8] Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant Job.
[9] So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as the LORD commanded them: the LORD also accepted Job.

See All...) - The objects of His wrath
- Eliphaz
- And his two friends
- The cause of His wrath
- Ye (Eliphaz and his friends) have not spoken of God the thing that is right.
- As God’s servant Job did
- The Requirement of the Lord (Job 42:8Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant Job.
See All...) - Offer for yourselves a burnt offering.
- Seven bullocks
- Seven rams
- Have Job pray for you.
- God will accept Job.
- Or else God will deal with you according to your folly.
- Because their words concerning God were not right
- The Obedience of the Friends (Job 42:9So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as the LORD commanded them: the LORD also accepted Job.

- The Lord also accepted Job.
- THE BLESSINGS OF JOB (Job 42:10-17 [10] And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.
[11] Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him over all the evil that the LORD had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of money, and every one an earring of gold.
[12] So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.
[13] He had also seven sons and three daughters.
[14] And he called the name of the first, Jemima; and the name of the second, Kezia; and the name of the third, Kerenhappuch.
[15] And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job: and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren.
[16] After this lived Job an hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons' sons, even four generations.
[17] So Job died, being old and full of days.
See All...) - The Statement of Blessing (Job 42:10And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.
See All...) - Job prayed for his friends; Note: When Job sought forgiveness for those who had wronged him, God gave him a double blessing.
- The Lord turned the captivity of Job; Note: It is important to note that the time of Job’s trials was called his “captivity.” Besides being a powerful picture of times of trials, it points to the connection of Job with the time of tribulation in the end times. The great tribulation is a time of 42 months (Revelation 11:2But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.
See All...; Revelation 13:5And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
See All...), as Job is a book of 42 chapters. This time is also called “the time of Jacob’s trouble” and it is at the end of this time that the Jews will be truly freed from the trials of many centuries. - The Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before; Note: This lines up with the “double portion” allotted to the firstborn (Deuteronomy 21:17But he shall acknowledge the son of the hated for the firstborn, by giving him a double portion of all that he hath: for he is the beginning of his strength; the right of the firstborn is his.
See All...). Job is here a type of Israel who is God’s firstborn (Exodus 4:22And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn:

If very young or saved, they go to be with the Lord and can be seen in heaven (2 Samuel 12:21-23 [21] Then said his servants unto him, What thing is this that thou hast done? thou didst fast and weep for the child, while it was alive; but when the child was dead, thou didst rise and eat bread. [22] And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell whether GOD will be gracious to me, that the child may live? CONCLUSION: Job’s life was peaceful until the Lord disrupted it by mentioning him to the Devil. The vast majority of the Book of Job chronicles this heartache. In the end, the Lord more than restores what He allowed to be taken away from Job in the time of trial. God will always give a man far more than He takes away.
