Suffer Children to Come unto Me - Matthew 19:14
See All...
INTRODUCTION
The Lord Jesus is the King of kings, the Lord of lords, and the Creator of the universe. Yet, during His earthly ministry, the Lord made it known that He cared for the “little ones” (Matthew 18:6But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
See All..., 10, 14). Perhaps the disciples thought the Master would be too busy or have more important things to do than to take time for the children. The Lord rebuked His disciples for such erroneous thinking. After all, the Lord loved children and wanted them to come to Him. It grieved Him to think that His disciples would forbid any child from coming to Him. Even now, the Lord wants little children to come to Him. No disciple should ever forbid children to come to the Lord. Even with all of life’s distractions, the Bible admonishes young people to remember their Creator in the days of their youth (Ecclesiastes 12:1Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHTS
- (For children): The Lord says, “he careth for you” (1 Peter 5:7Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
See All...). The Lord died for everyone and wants them to be saved (1 Timothy 2:4Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
See All...). In Romans 10:13For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
See All..., “whosoever” means you! You may, can, and should be saved when you are young (Proverbs 8:17I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
See All...; Jeremiah 29:13And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
See All...). - (For everyone): Have you trusted the Lord as Saviour? Have you talked to someone about trusting the Lord for salvation only to have that person turn you away? Why were you turned away?
- Why is it important that children not be turned away when they are seeking the Lord? What should we do to help them better understand salvation without turning them away?
PRAYER NEEDS
- Thank the Lord for caring for the little children.
- Ask God to work in the hearts of the young ones in your family.
