INTRODUCTION

Many people fail to enjoy the present blessings worrying about the possibility of future difficulties. Though each time of life is certainly filled with its difficulties, it is also filled with tremendous opportunities for blessing. When young, a person ought to rejoice in his youth while keeping in mind that God will bring his deeds into judgment. When growing older, people ought to rejoice in getting married, having children, working, and serving the Lord. As one grows older, he can enjoy the benefits of each phase of life knowing that God has special blessings in store for each day. There is no need to miss today’s joys worrying about troubles and sorrows that may never come.

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHTS

• (For smaller children) God is always present (Jeremiah 23:23-24 [23] Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off? [24] Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.

• During His earthly ministry, the Lord used each day to its fullest. He increased in wisdom, in stature, and in favour with God and man (Luke 2:52And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.

• What have you failed to enjoy because you were worried about things that never came to pass? What concerns do you have now? What blessings will be missed because of these concerns?

PRAYER NEEDS

• Ask the Lord to keep you from worrying about the future.
• Ask the Lord to help you rejoice in each day He gives you.
