  5. PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS OF THE SECOND NUMBERING
    1. Second Chances
      1. God is a God of second chances.
      2. The second numbering did not occur with the children of Israel back in the wilderness of Sinai.  God started over with them, but they had still gained ground from where they started.
    2. A Decrease in Numbers
      1. Sometimes God chooses to decrease our numbers before we can do what He has for us.
      2. A decrease of our numbers could be a matter of purification by God.
    3. Service to God
      1. Taking a stand for the Lord gets His attention (The Korathites).
      2. We are replaceable.  If we fail to serve God and believe His word, He will raise up someone else to do what we should have done.  If our generation fails to serve God and believe His word, then our generation is also replaceable.
      3. In our generation we need to take note of the Caleb’s and Joshua’s and learn from them.
