I Speak This to Your Shame

I Speak This to Your Shame - 1 Corinthians 15:34

INTRODUCTION

No matter where one lives, there are people who are not saved. There may also be those who do not even have the knowledge of God. Unfortunately, many believers have taken for granted that all who live in certain areas of the world have heard the gospel of Christ, but this is simply not true. As fewer preach and teach the gospel, the number of those ignorant to its truth will increase. As those propagating false doctrine muddy the message of salvation, the responsibility of true believers magnifies. Paul expressed these truths when writing to the believers in Corinth. He told them about the ignorance of some in their midst and put the blame on those who knew the truth, but refused to witness.

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHTS

  • (For smaller children) Get a good gospel tract. Smile and say, "I'd like to give you something good to read," as you hand it to someone. Many do not know the true gospel (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Some try to work for salvation. This is absolutely wrong (Galatians 1:6-9).
  • Who is responsible for sharing the gospel to those in your family who are without God? What about those in your neighbourhood?  How are you accountable, in part, for their ignorance?
  • Though many are ashamed of the gospel of Christ, the true shame lies in not sharing the gospel with others. Why is it a shameful thing to be silent concerning the gospel?

PRAYER NEEDS

  • Ask God to remind you of those that do not know Him.
  • Thank the Lord for the time when someone gave you the gospel.
