God’s Offer to Man - John 3:16-17
See All...
INTRODUCTION
Man made himself the enemy of God when he chose sin (Romans 5:10For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
See All...), but God had no desire to remain man’s enemy so He provided the ultimate solution. Instead of returning man’s hatred, the Bible says that “God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
See All...). The Lord knew man could never justly find salvation through his own merits and works (Titus 3:5Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
See All...). God knew man could never be reconciled on his own. Rather than simply allow countless multitudes to go to hell without hope, the Lord determined to provide Himself as the sacrifice for man’s sin. Man would not be dependent upon his own faulty righteousness, but on the righteousness of the spotless Lamb of God (1 Peter 1:18-20 [18] Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
[19] But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
[20] Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHTS
- (For children): Jesus had no sin (1 John 3:5And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
See All...). He loved us and died for our sins (Revelation 1:5And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
See All...). He offers you the greatest trade of all time (2 Corinthians 5:21For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
See All...). He is the only way to be saved (John 14:6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
See All...; Acts 4:12Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
See All...). - (For everyone): Why did man require the sacrifice of God’s Son? What moved God to send His Son? What must man do to be reconciled to the God he offended by choosing to sin?
- How would the world be different had God refused to give His Son? How would your life be different had God not sent His Son for you?
PRAYER NEEDS
- Ask God to help you realize your need if you are not saved.
