God Is No Respecter of Persons - Acts 10:34-35
See All...
INTRODUCTION
When the Lord sent Simon Peter to preach unto the Gentiles, he learned a great lesson about the Lord’s nature—"God is no respecter of persons" (Acts 10:34Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
See All...). This is a truth that is conveyed throughout scripture. In 2 Chronicles 19:7Wherefore now let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.
See All..., the Bible says, "there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons." Romans 2:11For there is no respect of persons with God.
See All... states the truth in very simple fashion by saying, "For there is no respect of persons with God." In various ways, the same truth is likewise conveyed in Ephesians 6:9And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.
See All..., Colossians 3:25But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.
See All..., and 1 Peter 1:17And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:
See All.... Though there are times where God respects some at the rejection of others, it is never baseless respect. This is in total opposition to the doctrines of Calvinism.
DEVOTIONAL THOUGHTS
- (For smaller children) God is a righteous judge (Deuteronomy 32:4He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.
See All...; Revelation 16:7And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.
See All...). He will judge us by His word - the Bible (John 12:48He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
See All...), not by favouritism (Leviticus 19:15Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.
See All...). Salvation is for "whosoever" (Isaiah 45:22Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.
See All...; John 3:16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
See All...; Acts 10:43To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
See All...; Romans 10:13For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
See All...; 1 Timothy 2:4Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
See All...). - Why is this truth such a blessing to mankind? How does this speak to the availability of salvation for all? How does this truth assure us that we will not be rejected by the Lord without just cause?
- What foundational reason does 2 Chronicles 19:7Wherefore now let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.
See All... give for suggesting that the Lord is not a respecter of persons?
