God Had Respect unto Them - Exodus 2:25
See All...
INTRODUCTION
When one considers God’s relationship with Israel, it must be understood that God did not choose to allow the Israelites to be saved while thrusting the rest of the world in hell. God chose to give His laws and statutes to Israel, but He also manifested Himself to others which can be clearly seen in the scripture. At the same time, one must not fail to see the special relationship God established with Israel. He "looked upon the children of Israel, and . . . had respect unto them" (Exodus 2:25And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect unto them.

In establishing His covenant with Israel, God promised them He would have respect unto them, make them fruitful, multiply them, and establish His covenant with them (Leviticus 26:9For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you.

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHTS
- (For smaller children) God started the nation of Israel with Abraham and promised him a people and a land forever (Genesis 12:1-3 [1] Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
[2] And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
[3] And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
See All...; Genesis 13:15-17 [15] For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. [16] And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered. [17] Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.

God gave us His word and our Saviour through them (Romans 9:4-5 [4] Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises; [5] Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.

[8] But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
See All.... Why did the Lord have respect unto Israel? To whom did the Lord make promises? How is it wrong when New Testament saints seek to steal these promises from the Jews? - Did God’s respect for Israel insure them entrance into heaven? How is it wrong to suggest that respect equals salvation?
PRAYER NEEDS
- Thank God for keeping His promises to the Jewish people.
- Ask the Lord to remind you of His faithfulness.
HYMN
All Hail the Power of JESUS’ Name!
