David, a Man of Loyalty - 1 Samuel 24:1-13
See All...
INTRODUCTION
Men often remember David’s failures, but David is a wonderful example of loyalty. One might think that Saul did not deserve David’s loyalty, in fact, some of David’s men held to this belief, but David felt otherwise. David had the opportunity to kill Saul, an opportunity that Saul attempted to seize against David on multiple occasions, but he refused to stretch forth his hand against the LORD’S anointed. Privily, David cut off the skirt of Saul’s robe, but immediately the Lord smote his heart. His godly character overrode any personal frustrations with the man who sought his personal harm. David’s men were prepared for action, but he stayed them because of loyalty.

- David’s men were loyal to David to the point that they were ready to kill Saul. How would David’s loyalty to Saul be a wonderful example and edification to his own men?
