The Evolution of LTB (LearntheBible.org)

When LearntheBible.org was founded, the cost associated with having a web ministry was minimal. Our site was small with a few articles, questions and answers, and outlines. We were able to build our site and do all the work ourselves using software known among the web world as a WYSIWYG. LTB, like many other sites, consisted mostly of written content. As the consumption of material has changed over time so has the need for an evolving web ministry. While we continue to produce written materials (articles, questions and answers, outlines, and devotions), we have drastically increased our output of videos.

As part of our evolution, we have had to employ resources to assist us in the building of a database running behind what you see on LearntheBible.org. We have also had to continually update video equipment, increase server capacity, employ tech-savvy assistants in the developing of our site, etc. In short, we have to continue to evolve in our content production if we want to continue to reach people with the truth of the word of God. Historically, Bible-believing Christians simply put sermons on weekly radio broadcasts and they could reach their generations. Times have changed!

Specifically, over the last few years, we have added a YouTube channel, a Livestream of our services, a free online Bible College, just over 1,000 daily devotions, and many other written materials. The plans for the future of LTB (LearntheBible) require even more resources of man hours, equipment, and website improvements.

We Need Your Help!

The truth is, it is time for a rebuild of LTB. The last time we rebuilt the website we made it too complicated to navigate. We hope to resolve that with a smoother, simplified navigation. Additionally, we have thousands of videos and audio files already captured that we would love to upload directly to LTB. This does not include the new videos that we want to capture (devotions, Bible studies, Bible College classes, daily broadcasts, and eventually a 24-hour/day, 7 days/week LTB TV online).

We need your help in order to accomplish these things for the Lord. Historically, people have viewed our website and written us to inquire about available staff positions, not realizing that we have done all of this on a shoestring budget with fewer than five people doing the bulk of the work. LTB is a ministry of our local church which runs less than 100 people. Rarely, if ever, have we made an appeal to you for assistance and we would not do it now were it not beyond our resources.

In the past, we have had people write to ask us how they could donate to our ministry online. Up to this point, we have not had the option for people to do so. Understandably, many people today do not want to write a check and put it in the mail. As such, the Lord recently provided us with a great resource allowing people to donate to LTB online. This resource will allow folks to donate money, stocks, cars, assets, and even unused gift cards. We appreciate anything you can do to be a partner with us in insuring that we can keep LTB going for the next generation. Another great feature that this resource allows is for a one-time donation or reoccurring gifts. We assure you that no gift is too small and will add up.
