At That Day - Isaiah 17:7-8

At That Day - Isaiah 17:7-8

INTRODUCTION

Throughout history, men have mocked, rejected, and forsaken the Lord. They have chosen to themselves gods that cannot save or help. One day that will change. At varying points, men will come to the same conclusion—there is no god like the God of the Bible. No longer will a man "look to the altars, the work of his hands," neither shall he "respect that which his fingers have made, either the groves, or the images." All will fail in comparison to the Maker. Just as the Lord promised, one day "every knee shall bow," and "every tongue shall swear" (Isaiah 45:23; Romans 14:11; Philippians 2:10). All will "have respect to the Holy One of Israel," but for some, it will be too late.

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHTS

  • (For smaller children) God hates idolatry (Deuteronomy 16:22; Isaiah 42:8). Idols have no power (Psalm 135:15-18) and are controlled by man (Isaiah 44:13-20; Jeremiah 10:5). Our God has all power (Acts 17:24-25) and will be worshipped by all (Revelation 5:11-13).
  • Have you already looked unto the Maker? If not, will you look to Him now? If you wait for a time that seems convenient, you may find that your time comes when it is too late.
  • Are you longing for the day when all the saved gather together and worship the One who gave His life so that we might live? Begin living now as though you are already there.

PRAYER NEEDS

  • Thank the Lord for the day when all will bow before Him.
  • Ask the Lord to convict your loved ones of their need for Him.

HYMN

O Worship the King!
