We who are saved by the blood know we are on our way to heaven, but we have questions about what heaven will be like. We wonder about our loved ones who have gone to heaven before us. Though we see as but through a glass darkly, God’s word reveals to us several things about the land of heaven.

One of the basic teachings of classic dispensationalism concerns the offer of the kingdom to Israel. According to this teaching, Jesus Christ, in His earthly ministry, came specifically to Israel and offered the kingdom to them at that time. In rejecting Christ, the Jews rejected the kingdom and opened the way for the age of grace.

Many a misguided believer or critic who opposes the death penalty will quote the well known sixth commandment, “Thou shalt not kill” (Exodus 20:13) as the basis for their argument.

There is another Bible doctrine that some call Spirit baptism. But it is not Spirit baptism. The scriptures never call it a baptism at all. That is the filling of the Spirit.

Paul prayed for the Ephesians that the eyes of their understanding might be enlightened so that they might see, among other things, the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints. One of the greatest blessings for which God’s people need to be thankful is their inheritance in Christ.

Inspiration is the act of God by which He made every word of Scripture completely without error and completely what He wanted. It is equally as vital as is the doctrine of revelation and the doctrine of preservation. Do you have the inspired word of God?

Now let us consider what is most properly called Spirit baptism. The Bible does not talk as much about this one. However, it is a Bible doctrine. At the point of salvation the Holy Spirit places us into Jesus Christ. When a soul trusts in Christ and is saved, he or she is “in Christ.”

To understand the baptism with the Holy Ghost, you must understand that it was an event. Acts 1:6 teaches that the baptism with the Holy Ghost would occur “not many days hence.” We know that this baptism occurred in Acts chapter two on the Day of Pentecost. It was a special day. It was a unique day. It is not to be sought again and again.

Christians disagree about baptism. Because of the subject’s importance, many hours have been spent studying it. Though much has been learned from others, this article takes a unique approach which will hopefully be helpful to the reader.

We often reveal how man is perverting the words of God in the new versions of the Bible. But these words are the foundation for many other things as well. One of the methods Satan does this is by removing the old hymns from our vocabulary. They are dying because the new versions do not lend them support.
