About the Author
Evangelist Donnie Melton, graduate of Temple Baptist Seminary, entered the ministry in 1977. He served as the pastor of three churches. After serving as pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Gray, Georgia for twelve and one-half years, he entered the field of full-time evangelism in 1993. With a burden to help the local churches of America, he founded Harvest Time Baptist Ministries. The goal of this ministry is to strengthen and support the local churches of our nation.
As an evangelist, his first priority is preaching. He believes that preaching is the most important activity of the local church. With a burden for heaven–sent revival, he preaches at local churches across America. Also, he delights in preaching Bible conferences to encourage and strengthen the Saints. With a desire to excite the Christians over missions, he preaches mission conferences.
As an author, he has written two books to assist local churches in the area of discipleship. The first book, That You May Grow, is regarding the area of Christian growth. The second book, Those Things Most Surely Believed By Us , is for laymen on the subject of Bible doctrines. He is presently writing a discipleship book, To Tell the Truth , to guide Christians to a trustworthy Bible–the King James Bible.
As an enrolled agent with a background in accounting , he has a unique ministry to assist pastors in guiding their churches toward compliance with Internal Revenue Regulations. Realizing that the failure to meet these regulations can have a devastating effect on the local church, he offers guidance in this area. Therefore, in order to help churches in this important area, he offers workshops on this subject. He has written a manual, Survival Guide for the Local Church , to assist churches in protecting their ministries.
