INTRODUCTION

The character and work of God is the perfect standard of righteousness. Any person who desires to know the right way to do something need not look any further than the Lord for his example. When it comes to giving man what is needed, God is liberal. If man needs wisdom, all he needs to do is ask, and God will give wisdom in liberal fashion. This is not restricted to wisdom, but is the manner in which God gives to man in all areas of life. If in doubt, look no further than Calvary. At Calvary, God gave liberally in the sacrifice of His Son. Now, whosoever will can come to God for salvation. If God would give so liberally to man, how should man give to God?

That is the meaning of Luke 6:38Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

• In what areas has God given to you in a liberal manner? For what have you asked God and found Him to be stingy? Was it something that you needed?
• Do you follow God’s example in giving? Do you give liberally to the Lord like He gives liberally to you? How does your liberality reflect your thankfulness to God, or lack thereof?

PRAYER NEEDS

• Thank God for giving liberally to you.
• Ask God to increase your love for Him.
