Preserved Blameless - 1 Thessalonians 5:23

Preserved Blameless - 1 Thessalonians 5:23

INTRODUCTION

It is of great importance to the saint to know that he is blameless in Christ at this very moment in time, but what will his condition be when the Lord Jesus Christ returns for His own? Thankfully, the scriptures are not at all silent on this issue. According to 1 Corinthians 1:8, the Lord Jesus Christ "shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ." The same truth is conveyed in 1 Thessalonians 3:13 where the Bible says that the Lord desires to stablish the believers’ "hearts unblameable in holiness before God, . . . at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints." How is this accomplished? By preservation (1 Thessalonians 5:23).

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHTS

  • (For smaller children) Psalm 37:28 says the saints of God are preserved forever. The Lord is preserving us right now (2 Timothy 4:18). He will present us faultless (Jude 1:24) because of what He did for us (Isaiah 53:5-6; 1 John 3:5).
  • Why is it important that you be considered blameless in the sight of God? Why is it necessary that the Lord work to preserve you in that condition?
  • What part of the believers in Thessalonica did Paul pray would be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Thessalonians 5:23)? What does this mean for you?

PRAYER NEEDS

  • Thank God for giving you the righteousness of Christ.
  • Thank the Lord for His ability to preserve you blameless.
