I Shall Be Satisfied - Psalm 17:15

I Shall Be Satisfied - Psalm 17:15

INTRODUCTION

One day very soon every born again child of God will leave behind his or her tabernacle, with all of its imperfections, and trade it for a glorified body that bears the likeness of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is this truth that John so happily confessed in his first epistle when he said, "Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is" (1 John 3:2). All the heartaches and troubles of this world will instantly cease and man for the first time will truly be "satisfied" when he awakes with the likeness of the righteous Son of God (Psalm 17:15; 1 Corinthians 15:49).

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHTS

  • (For smaller children) The Bible says our bodies are vile. One day, for the saved, they won't be vile any more (Philippians 3:20-21). Are you looking for His "glorious" appearing so that you can have a "glorious" body like His (Titus 2:13)?
  • Has there ever been a time in this life when you have been perfectly satisfied? If so, how did that time relate to your relationship with God? How will your satisfaction come to full fruition when you awake in the presence and likeness of the Lord?
  • Do you long to be like the Lord? Do you long to enter His presence? If not, why?

PRAYER NEEDS

  • Thank the Lord for the hope you have in Him.
  • Ask the Lord to help you tell others of your hope.

HYMN

Beloved, Now Are We
